Since you are a Star Trek fan, it reminds of scenes from the sixth film. Aztbur, daughter of Chancellor Gorkon lectures at dinner held on the Enterprise, in response to Chekov's remark about sovereign human rights on each planet engendered by the Federation:

At current rate, if there will be a federation, this may very well be true.
